Dogos XV come into the last regular game of the season, with their spot secured in the play offs. They are in great form but welcome a Selknam side targetting the last spot in the play offs!
Selknam have it all to do though in the 200th match in the Franchise’s history! If they win with a bonus point, they will be home and hosed for the play offs! However, they have not won in Córdoba for 3 years, they came close with a 23 -23 draw last season. They also have a 45 - 40 home victory against Dogos this season.
Dogos will be aiming for the win to secure their top 2 spot and a home advantage in the Semi Finals next weekend.
Dogos will have their former first choice fly half back back in the side, Julián Hernández will be out of position at full back though. With only 1 capped International in the side in the form of Pedro Delgado, the rest of the Dogos side have been putting in a shift to turn the head of Felipe Contepomi in time for the summer series. They will also be looking to make the most of their exciting scrum half, Juan Lovell to control the game.
Selknam are forced into a few changes due to injuries, and players out of position but with what will be the 3rd must win game in a row to save their season. It is needs must for the team from Chile. Cristóbal Game is on the bench and lined up to pick up his first appearance of the season. With 18 players in the team that have been capped for the Chilean national side, the availability of International experience in this side is evident. Fly Half Juan Cruz Reyes will have to play out of position at Scrum half for this game, which could be an issue or a genius move to add another playing dimension around the breakdown. Inside Centre Nicolás Saab will be on the wing tonight to cover further injury issues.
Both sides need a result tonight for different outcomes, but if we can see another scoreline like it was in the return fixtures earlier in the season, we are in for a great game!
