The mission statement was clear for Selknam, win and they are in the Semi Finals! They came flying out the traps and Captain Clemente Saavedra after 3 minutes! Tómas Salas makes the conversion and its 0 - 7 to Selknam.

Discipline started to undo the early efforts by Selknam when they gifted Juan Pablo Baronio the opportunity to reduce the deficit with 2 penalties on the 8th and 14th minute markers. Baronio did not miss and the score line sat at 6 - 7. Baronio being the top points scorer in the tournament, there wasn’t much doubt in reducing the deficit.

Selknam managed to get deep into the Dogos territory and after consultation with the TMO a try was awarded to Salvador Lues. A proper forwards try there with a pile of bodies doing everything to score and defend a try but Lues did enough to ground the ball at close quarters.

21 minutes on the clock and Selknam had extended their lead to 6 - 12. However 4 minutes later, the lead was finally surrendered scum half Juan Lovell sneaked off the back of a driving maul to score a try close to the posts. Baronio added to his tally and the game with the conversion. Dogos were finally in front after 25 minutes. 13 - 12.

Selknam had centre Matías Garafulic sent off at the 27 minute mark. Thats 20 minutes in the bin and Dogos have an extra man advantage. The Selknam discipline issue continued giving Baronio a chance to kick another 3 on the 30 minute mark. Dogos lead stretched to 16 - 12.

3 minutes before the half, prop Boris Wenger cleverly found the gap at the bottom of a pick and go to score close to the posts. Baronio added the extras and Dogos went into the half leading 23 -12 now.

The second half begun with Selknam returning to 15 players, Boris Wegner fluffed a golden opportunity for another try which would have potentially killed off the comeback. Selknam continued their discipline issues with another penalty kick given for Baronio to slot over. 42 minutes on the clock and its 26 -12.

The comeback began! Salvador Lues added again from close range and Salas made the extras. 50 minutes on the clock and its 26 -19.

Then a moment of magic from substitute Cristobal Game scored a acrobatic flying try into the corner. Salas added the corner from the touch line, 60 minutes on the clock and we are all square. 26 - 26.

Lautauro Cipriani found himself in space after the restart, while being closed down. He opted for the chip and chase! It was sublime, gathering his own kick, he dived over to take Dogos back in front after 62 minutes. 31 - 26 to the Dogos.

Selknam then tried to shoot themselves in the foot, when Raimundo Martinez was yellow carded on the 68th minute. Surely the comeback had now stuttered?!

Selknam stood strong in defense and held back the onslaught from Dogos to put the game to bed.

Selknam were able to regain metres as the Dogos discipline began to slip. With 2 minutes left, Martinez returned and it was go time. They slowly inched forwards with the forwards grinding out the work. As the clock turned red, they were camped on the Dogos line, it was then Augusto Villanueva found the gap and in front of the official. The arm went up, try scored! Players were dancing but it was only 31 - 31.

Salas didn’t miss from pretty much infront of the posts though. 31 - 33, the full time whistle blew and Selknam had secured a Semi Final spot! Dogos dropped to 4th, both teams will travel away to Pampas and Penarol respectively.
