Sadly this tie had lost the jeopardy of either team sneaking into the play offs! But it gave Tarucas the opportunity to finish their first season in the franchise strongly and finish in 5th spot. Yacaré were looking to secure 5th spot but had a tough test travelling to Tucumán.

It didn’t take Tarucas long to get on the board, with a try from full backStefano Ferro. After a scrapy distribution off a breakdown fell kindly for the team in Orange. A pop pass into Ferro who flew straight through a gap in the Yaracé defence, his step on the last defender nearly saw the ball pop out of his grasp. While juggling the ball he came under pressure from two other defenders but managed to reclaim the ball while the surface was able to carry him over the whitewash. A straightforward conversion for Nicolás Roger took the score to 7 - 0 after only 1 minute on the clock!

It took till the 12th minute for Joaquín Lamas to reduce the deficit from a penalty kick. Score now 7- 3 but that turned out to be the last points of the half for the visitors while the home side went on the offensive again.

Taracus looked to keep the ball alive when on the Yacaré 5 metre line, with some sublime offloading nearly saw them go under the posts. But the Yacaré defence stood strong, until the ball was spun past the first receiver into the hands of Thiago Sbroco. He spotted a gap and took flight to dive over the line, allowing Roger to add the conversion and put Tarucas 14 - 3 ahead after 21 minutes. A strong start to the game for the Tarucas team!

Tarucas kept the pressure on, winning a penalty with was slotted by Roger on the 27th minute. Then another on the 34th minute, which saw Yacaré captain Mariano Garcete yellow carded. Roger stepped to slot the penalty on the 36th minute. No further points in the half saw the Tarucas take a 20 - 3 lead into the break.

The second half started a bit slower than the first, we had to wait 3 minutes for the first try this time! What looked to be speculative long range pass by Roger, found Tomás Medina on the halfway line. Medina then charged towards the defensive line, pied one defender in the face on the 10 metre line after the other Yacaré defender slipped at the wrong time. Medina then carried onto the 22 sucking in 2 defenders, allowing Bautista Estofan to ghost behind and receive a easy back door offload pass inside to run over under the posts, while Medina continued his run celebrating with an arm aloft! Roger did the business again, 43 minutes and Tarucas are running riot! 27 - 3.

However, Tarucas try to play a similar style off the back of their scrum at halfway on the 53rd minute. Unfortunately for Tarucas, as the Yacaré defensive line blitzes up they put a pass under pressure which bounces unkindly off Mariano Ascaraté’s boot. The ball bobbles across to Arturo López who nudges over a sublime chip for Julián Quetglas to turn on the after burners, speeds past 2 retreating defenders. He manages to control the kick chase forward and gather the ball to dive over for a try that Yacaré needed! What a talent Quetglas looks with speed to burn too! Joaquín Lamas adds the conversion and narrows the gap to 27 - 10 after 54 minutes.

Roger took the scoreline further away after a penalty kick after 57 minutes, 30 - 10. He wasn’t done there though, 4 minutes later he sent a kick deep into the night sky. Roger took chase, alongside Thiago Sbrocco. Sbrocco put the Yacaré defense under pressure in the ai, forcing them to spill the ball. Another lucky bounce meant it landed in Roger’s hands, a little pop back inside for Juan José Heisecke to canter over for a easy try close the sticks. Roger completed the move with the conversion, taking the score to 37 - 10 after 62 minutes.

A couple minutes later, Yacaré find themselves in the Tarucas 22. They find the Tarucas defense lacking around the breakdown, sneaking round an empty guard post, then a sequence of offloads allowed Ramiro Amarilla to gather the ball in a pocket of space and diving over to close the gap again. Lamas makes the conversion on 65 minutes, surely there is too much to do now? 37 - 17 with 15 minutes remaining.

Tarucas went onto win a scrum on the Yacaré 5 metre line on the 70th minute, they set to put the tie to bed and drove over the line with Santaiago Aguilar dotting the ball down at the back of the rotating scrum. Roger added his final points of the day taking the score to 44 - 17.

Yacaré weren’t finished there though, they got to the Tarucas 22. Quetglas managed to pull into space, receiving a long pass from the base of the breakdown. Quetglas goes for a chip and chase over the defensive line. He sets off at pace once again, managing to stop 3 defenders flat footed and still out run the covering 4th defender. Quetglas dots down for another cracking try! Lamas adds the conversion and brings the score to 44 - 24 on 75 minutes.

Tarucas hooker Diego Fortuny picks up a yellow card with 4 minutes remaining but it has no impact on the scores. What a way to end the debut season for Tarucas.
